Hip-hip Hooray! It's New York City Marathon Day! ...

The New York City Marathon is today, and whether you're running it, or cheering along the sidelines or at home, there's a few things you ought to know.

First of all, there will be about 50,000 runners in today's race - and yes, it IS a race - so there will be plenty of competition (and plenty of people to cheer for). Second, if you can't make it to the race, there's a free iOS or Android app (download the apps here: tcsnycmarathon.org) you can use to track your runner's progress as they run. And this year, as always, there are so many inspirational stories to share, including the story of John Schiaroli and his sweet 8-year-old stepdaughter Anna, who's currently battling leukemia. (Learn more about Anna and read other inspirational NYC Marathon stories at tcsnycmarathon.org.)

So here's to the runners, the cheerleaders, and little Anna - good luck, and happy running!
